This course is where a noble purpose is added to the fun of diving. If you’re aged 15 or over then you’re ready to make a unique contribution to the environment.

At times coral reefs suffer from bleaching or damage due to severe storms. This course is all about repairing coral reef, teaching you the basics of coral and how to replant coral on damaged reefs. And since it is done in the Maldives, some of the dives are spectacular dive experiences too Bottom line, the course is awesome, and it for sure does not get less special if done on a beautiful tropical island, like Thulusdhoo in the middle of the blue oceans of the Maldives!

Together with your instructor, you will have a fun, purposeful and different course that will be something to remember. You will also be certified in coral propagation, and have the necessary knowledge to help out on other volunteer projects around the world, where coral reefs need some tender loving care.

Location
Thulusdhoo is an island known for diving and surfing, within 30 minutes of the capital Male. A beautiful beach with palm trees and a turquoise lagoon is the view of a number guesthouses that line the beach, with their cafes, swinging chairs and hammocks gracing the beach. This is as liberal as the Maldives gets, with the surfing crowd and the diving crowd living side by side on the beach. One block away is the real Maldives, the local village with its steady, slow pace of life, white sandy streets and green plants everywhere. It is all very pretty!

For those wanting to sunbathe, there are sunbeds on the beach in front of the guesthouses, free to use, and bikinis are OK.

Your guesthouse – The Dive Center
If you want to live where the action is, the dive center is the place to go with the flow. Here all the divers hang out after a day’s diving in the hangout area just in front. The dive center is practically on the beach, at the end of a line of guesthouses which offers chilled hangouts like hammocks, swinging chairs and nice spots to have a cheap café snack or food galore.

Your Room – Dive Center dorms
4 people in simple dorm rooms located inside the dive center. Each room has A/C, Fan and private bathroom. There are daily cleaning in the dorms. The rooms are by default split between male and female, but mixed dorm rooms might occur in high season. Therefore, no absolute guarantee is given for female only dorm rooms.
